Commassie Blue Staining
G-250 CBB staining buffer (500 mL)
Chemical | Fina Conc | Volume/Weight |
---|---|---|
Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 | 0.5 % [^conc of G-250] | 2.5 g |
Methanol | 50% (v/v) | 250 mL |
Acetic acid | 10% (v/v) | 50 mL |
ddH2O | to final volume | 200 mL |
Actually, it is not the best recipe for G-250. This one works better for R-250. However, the chemical room dose not have R-250 so I have to prepare G-250 buffer.
[^conc of G-250]: Actually, the concentration generally differ from 0.052% to 0.1%. I used 0.5% here just for do a quick staining. I can only perform staining for 30 min or 1 hour and distaining overnight. It is important that this method is not good for weak bands.
