Regular Buffers in biomedical experiments

1 M Tris-HCl (pH 7.9 @ 4°C), 500 mL
Reagents
- Tris: C4H11NO3, 121.136 g/mol
 - HCl: for adjustment of pH
 
Procedure
- Weigh 60.568 g Tris. Dissolve in 450 mL water@4°C.
 - Let it cool down to 4 °C.
 - Adjust the pH to 7.9 @4°C with HCl.
 - Add water until total volume is 500 mL.
 
0.5 M EDTA (pH 8.0), 500 mL
Reagents
- 
EDTA: C10H16N2O8, 292.244 g/mol
EDTA·2H2O: C10H18N2Na2O10, 372.24 g/mol
 - 
NaOH: for adjustment of pH
 
Procedure
- Weigh 93.06 g EDTA·2H2O. Dissolve in 400 mL water.
 - Adjust the pH to 8.0 with NaOH.
 - Add water until total volume is 500 mL.
 
2.5 M NaCl, 1000 mL
Reagents
- NaCl: 58.443 g/mol
 
Procedure
- 
Weigh 146.11 g EDTA·2H2O. Dissolve in 900 mL water.
 - 
Add water until total volume is 1000 mL.
